If there were ever a capital city for waterfalls in North Carolina, Brevard would be the place. I don’t know if it’s because there are coincidentally so many accessible falls nearby, or if the area has just been extensively mapped, but “The Land of Waterfalls” is your best bet if you ever wanted to see all the falling water your little heart can handle. The town itself is big enough that you can make a weekend or a weeklong stay and do all the hiking you want. There are also plenty of good restaurants in Brevard’s downtown district to check out.
