Kanawha Falls

Height: 15 feet
Trail Type: Dirt
Hike Distance: A few yards
Difficulty: 1
Beauty: 3

Overview:

Kanawha Falls isn’t terribly special, but it’s impressive considering how large and powerful the Kanawha River is at this point in its descent out of the mountains down to the Ohio River. The falls sit at the bottom of a smaller dam along an old mill beside the highway.

Directions:

From Charleston, WV, take exit 85 from Interstate 64 and drive about 22 miles on US 60 east. You’ll pass Riggs Branch Falls along the way. The parking area for the falls is on the right.
