Overview:
Enfield Falls is part of Robert H. Treman State Park just south of Ithaca, NY. It’s a popular swimming hole in the summer, so get there early to avoid the crowds. Some estimates say the falls are 70 feet high, but there’s no way it’s more than half that.
Directions:
From downtown Ithaca, drive south on highway 13 past Buttermilk Falls State Park and turn right onto highway 327. The entrance to the park will be immediately on the left.
Hike Description:
There is a large parking area 0.7 miles down the road. The walk down to the falls is flat and easy. There’s a concrete platform that puts you right up next to the falls. The much taller Lucifer Falls is at the opposite end of the park, which you can access via the Gorge Trail at the front of the parking lot, or by driving up highway 327 up the ridge to the north entrance of the park. However, Lucifer Falls is very difficult to view despite the trail going right by it.
