Overview:
Blackwater Falls is the namesake for Blackwater Falls State Park. Although the river is full of muddy brown water, the falls still make a wonderful sight as they plunge over the ledge and funnel down into a massive canyon.
Directions:
The park is located near the town of Davis, West Virginia. You’ll see signs directing you to the park. Once you’re inside, park in the lot with the trading post.
Hike Description:
The trail begins at the back of the lot and descends down the ridge on gravel before turning into a boardwalk for the rest of the way. The walkway runs along the gorge just above the riverbank before depositing you close to the base of the falls about halfway up.
