Grassy Creek Falls is a nice free fall tucked away on private property near Little Switzerland. However, the property owner has been nice enough to allow the public to walk down and visit the falls.
Take the Little Switzerland exit off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn right and drive underneath the bridge and take the immediate next right. Park at the intersection, as the land owners don’t want people parking in their driveways.
The trail begins at the top of the intersection and descends down the mountain on a wide gravel road. You’ll pass four homes along the way. The trail is well-marked, and you’ll eventually see a blue gate. Take the trail that cuts to the right before the gate and the falls will be a short distance down on the right. There are two different scramble trails to the base. Getting down is more difficult than coming up, but it’s certainly doable.
