Overview:
Mud Creek Falls lies within the bounds of the Sky Valley Resort. The falls are listed at 100 feet, but 75 feet might be more accurate. Mud Creek dips, dives, and drops over a countless number of ledges. There are several rocks in the creek bed you can step out on to get a view.
Directions:
The easiest way to get to Mud Creek Falls is from Highlands, NC. From the intersection of US 64 and NC highway 106, drive 10.1 miles down NC 106 and turn left onto Old Mud Creek Road. If you’re coming from Georgia, take US 23/US 441 up through Clayton and turn right onto GA highway 246. After crossing into North Carolina, the road changes to NC 106. Old Mud Creek Road is about a mile from the border.
Drive down Old Mud Creek Road for 0.9 miles and turn right into Sky Valley Resort. Drive another half mile or so and turn right onto Tahoe Lane. Follow Tahoe Lane to the end and park at the base of the falls.
