Overview:
Katie’s Falls is a narrow roadside falls down Ellijay Road near Franklin. The falls were named by Jacob Parker Moore to honor his daughter, Katherine Allen Moore Rhinehart sometime before Jacob’s death in 1933. A small metal plaque at the base of the falls marks her honor.
Directions:
From the intersection of US 64/NC 28 and US 441/US 23 in Franklin, head east on US 64 for 4.2 miles and turn left on Ellijay Road. If you’re coming from Highlands, it’s 13.6 miles from the intersection of US 64 and NC highway 106. From Ellijay Road, it’s 5.2 miles to the falls on the left.
