Height: 125 feet
Trail Type: Gravel and dirt
Hike Distance: 2 miles round trip
Difficulty: 8 for the whole trail; 4 from Triple Falls
Beauty: 9
Overview:
High Falls is my personal favorite in DuPont State Forest. There are several massive boulders you can walk out on to get closer to the falls, which is basically one gigantic slide down an open rock face. Most of the time, only the right side of the falls has flow, but I imagine with higher flow, the entire slope is covered.
Directions:
Same as for Triple Falls.
Hike Description:
From Triple Falls, keep going along the trail. At the bottom of the hill, the trail splits off. Going right takes you to the overlook for High Falls. The view is okay, but for the good stuff, keep straight on the Riverbend Trail to go to the base. You’ll have to do a little rock hopping, but it’s not bad as long as you take your time.
